Professor Dadang Sunendar is the Head of Language Development Board, the Ministry of Education and Culture in Indonesia. Prior to his current position, he served in some strategic positions in UPI, such as the Head of French Education Department, School of Postgraduate Studies, Vice Dean of Academic and Student Affairs, and the Director of Academic Affairs in the University. In the period of 2010 – 2015, he served as the Vice Rector of Planning, Partnership, Student, and Business Affairs Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia. He actively participated in many national and international conferences in the field of Indonesian and French Language and organizations, such as the Center of Indonesia-France Culture. In 2006, he obtained the highest achivement in academic affairs (Chevalier dans l’Ordre des Palmes Académiques) from French Government.
Associate Professor Roger Palmer is a Lecturer at Hirao School of Management, Konan University. He is a frequent speaker at language conferences in the Asian region. He has published research articles in various journals and authored an ESL textbook. Many of his publications are related to the use of technology in e-learning context, personal learning environment, and ICT mediated approach. His research areas are Second Language Acquisition, Teacher and Learner Training.
Dr. Willy A Renandya is a Principal Lecturer at the ELL Department, National Institute of Education, Singapore. Prior to his current position, he taught at SEAMEO RELC, Singapore, where he also served as Head of the Department of Language Education and Research. He has taught in many parts of Asia, including Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, the Philippines, and Vietnam. He is a frequent speaker at language conferences in the Asian region.
He holds an MA in TESL and a PhD in Educational Psychology. His teaching and research interests include second and foreign language pedagogy, extensive reading, language testing and curriculum development. He has published research articles in various journals, authored an ESL textbook, and edited numerous books and anthologies. His latest publications include Motivation in the language classroom (2014, TESOL International), Simple, powerful strategies for Student Centered Learning with George Jacobs and Michael Power (2016, Springer International), and English language teaching today: Linking theory and practice with Handoyo P Widodo (2016, Springer International).
Professor Bachrudin Musthafa is a senior lecturer at English Education Department, Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia (UPI). Prior to his current position, Bachrudin worked at Technical Assistance Management Unit (TAMU) under the World Bank Project, the General Directorate of Higher Education in 1990. He holds a master’s degree in English Rhetoric and Linguistics at Indiana University of Pennsylvania. He completed his PhD in Literacy Studies at the Ohio State University. He is currently teaching at Graduate and Postgraduate Studies at UPI in such subjects as Exploring Poetry; Exploring Drama; dan Literary Research, Teaching English to Young Learners, Qualitative Research Methods, Qualitative Data Analysis, and Language Policy & Planning. His teaching and research interest include literacy, adolescent literacy, and research methods in literacy. His has published some English textbooks for high school students, articles in some journals, and books related to literacy teaching
Helena I. R. Agustien, Ph.D is a senior lecturer at Universitas Negeri Semarang. She is also the member of editorial board of ASIA TEFL International Journal. She Obtained Ph.D in applied linguistics at Macquarie University, Sydney. She was also a language specialist at SEAMEO-RELC Singapore (2008-2011). Currently She teaches at School of Postgraduate Studies at Universitas Negeri Semarang. She has been an active reviewer in international journals and keynote speaker in many conferences, and authored EFL textbooks.
Professor Robert Chartrand is originally from Montreal, Canada. After working in Vancouver for a year, he decided to travel to Japan to see what it was like to live in this beautiful country. He was offered a full-time job teaching English and French at Berlitz School in Fukuoka and he has been living here since 1983.
He has taught English at language schools, companies, junior and senior high schools, junior colleges, and universities. He has enjoyed taking students on English study trips to Canada, Australia and New Zealand. He received an MAT in ESOL from SIT in Vermont, and a PhD from the Kyushu Institute of Technology. He has also recently completed a one-year sabbatical at the University of Birmingham, UK, where he published a book on corpus linguistics.
He is interested in doing research in technology for language learning and has been an active member in JALT for many years. He is a Professor at the Institute of Foreign Language Education, Kurume University, in Fukuoka Prefecture.
