David Mallows has 30 years of experience in adult education as a teacher, teacher trainer, and researcher. He was previously Director of Research at the National Research and Development Centre for adult literacy and numeracy (www.nrdc.org.uk) at the UCL Institute of Education, London. He has directed national and transnational research projects in adult literacy, language and numeracy, drawing on qualitative and quantitative methods, covering the workplace, teacher education, family literacy, language support and assessment. He is also an experienced language teacher educator with experience of running CELTA and other initial and continuing training programmes. He currently teaches on the UCL Institute of Education MA TESOL (pre-service), specialising in classroom practice, as well as leading a module of the MA in adult literacy, language and numeracy, with a focus on international policy in adult literacy.
He was formerly the Head of Language in the Department of English Language and Literature at the National University of Singapore. He was also a Language Specialist with Southeast Asian Ministers of Education Regional Language Centre (RELC). His publications are mainly related to Language in Education, Systemic Linguistics, Language Development and Teaching and Assessing English as an International Language. He was for many years the editor of the RELC Journal and the New English Teacher. He serves on various editorial boards including several Indonesian Journals.
Wachyu Sundayana holds a Bachelor degree in English Education from IKIP Bandung in 1983. He obtained his Master’s Degree in Elementary Education from the University of Iowa and Doctoral degree in Curriculum Development in School of Postgraduate Studies UPI. He was formerly the head of English Education Department. He is actively involved as a member of curriculum development teams, particularly for teacher education curriculum both at UPI and in the Ministry of Reseach, Technology, and Higher Education. In addition, he is actively in engaged in writing books on language curriculum and pedagogy. Currently, he serves as the Director of Language Center and a professor of Language Curriculum Development at English Education Department, UPI. He is also an author of school handbooks in both primary and secondary levels, a managing director of Indonesian Journal of Applied Linguistics (IJAL), and a consultant of higher education curriculum development in Indonesia.
Susanto is the Head of the Centre for Studies in Linguistics, Universitas Bandar Lampung (UBL). At the university, he is also a senior lecturer at the English Education Study Program. He is a Fulbright scholar at the Department of Brain and Cognitive Sciences, Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), USA. He completed a postdoctoral research in Forensic Linguistics at the Martin Centre for Appliable Linguistics, Shanghai Jiao Tong University (SJTU), China and attended a short course in ISFC Winter Institute at Macquarie University, Australia. He earned his BA in English Literature from Universitas Islam Sumatera Utara (UISU), MA in English Applied Linguistics from Universitas Negeri Medan (UNIMED), MA in English Literature from the Central Institute of English and Foreign Languages (CIEFL), India and PhD in Linguistics and Phonetics from the English and Foreign Languages University (EFLU), India. Kean Wah, LEE (PhD) is an Associate Professor at the School of Education, and Director of Undergraduate Studies, University of Nottingham (Malaysia campus). He is also the Vice-President and Treasurer of PacCALL (Pacific Association of Computer-Assisted Language Learning). He has presented and published extensively in journals, book chapters and books in the field of CALL, teacher professional development and English language teaching and learning.
