Welcome to the Twelfth Conference on Applied Linguistics (CONAPLIN 12)!

This event is organized by the Language Center of Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia (UPI) in cooperation with English Education Department, Faculty of Language and Literature UPI and Asosiasi Linguistik Terapan Indonesia (ALTI). The conference covers a wide range of topics related to applied linguistics, including language in education, language assessment and development, and the application of technology in language teaching and learning. 

This year's CONAPLIN 12 will be held on 1-2 October 2019, at Hotel Grand Tjokro, Bandung, Indonesia. The theme of this year's conference is “Applied Linguistics and Industrial Revolution 4.0: Reviewing Policy, Expanding Research, Enriching Practices," the conference is hoped to serve as a vehicle for language researchers, teachers, practitioners, policy makers, or applied linguistic enthusiasts to share their data and insights on the issue at hand and draw insightful conclusions for future practice and follow-up studies. 

 

General Guideline for Paper Submission and Presentation

All full papers should be written in English and will be peer-reviewed by at least two reviewers and evaluated based on its relevance to the conference, originality, technical and content quality, and contributions to the issues. 

 

Conference Scope

The conference welcomes papers that explore the issues related to the field of Applied Linguistics - broadly defined,  and its interfaces with the Industrial Revolution 4.0 desruptive era from a variety of perspectives. The scope includes but not limited to: literacy studies, language preservation/maintenance, language right, language policy, language description (grammar), discourse analysis, corpus linguistics, psycholinguistics, language teaching, teacher training, language curriculum and material development, language acquisition, and the technology-related studies in language teaching and learning, Multilingualism and Pluriligualism, Computer-/Mobile- Assisted Language Learning, Digital Literacies, English for Specific Purposes, Interpretation and Translation, Critical Literacy and Pedagogy, Community-Based Education, Transnationalism, as well as Soft Skills: Communication, Negotiation, Cognitive Flexibility, and Empathy; and Interdisciplinarity in Applied Linguistics.
