Theo van Leeuwen is a Professor of Language and Communication at the University of Southern Denmark, Emeritus Professor at the University of Technology, Sydney, and Honorary Professor at the University of New South Wales and the Australian Catholic University. He has published widely in the areas of visual communication, multimodality, and critical discourse analysis and was a founding editor of the journals Social Semiotics and Visual Communication. Books include Speech, Music, Sound; Multimodal Discourse -The Modes and Media of Contemporary Communication (with Gunter Kress); Introducing Social Semiotics; Discourse and Practice; The Language of Colour; Visual and Multimodal Research in Organization andManagement Studies (with Markus Höllerer and others), The Materiality of Writing (with Christian Johannessen), the 3rd revised edition of Reading Images – The Grammar of Visual Design (with Gunther Kress) and Multimodality and Identity.

Subhan Zein, PhD, teaches at Australian National University (ANU). His refereed publications include 8 books published by outlets such as Routledge and Springer; and his 37 articles and chapters have appeared in refereed journals such as Language Teaching, Journal of Education for Teaching, and Applied Linguistics Review. He has been awarded Australia’s Best Researcher in English Language and Literature.

Ahmad Bukhori Muslim (Abukh) is currently an assistant professor at Department of English Education and the Director of International Affairs, Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia. He received Fulbright and Kelly Elizabeth Stephens scholarships for his Master degree at Boston University whereas his Doctoral degree in Educational Linguistics from Monash University Australia was sponsored by Indonesian Higher Education scholarship. His research interests include educational linguistics, international education and partnership, intercultural language learning, language and identity, English education, and Islamic studies. His publications in these areas are available in some reputable peer-reviewed journals such as Indonesian Journal of Applied Linguistics (IJAL), The Asia TEFL Journal, Al-Bayan Journal of Qur’an and Hadith Studies (JQHS), Journal of Research in International Education (JRIE), Diaspora, Indigenous and Minority Education (DIME), Policy Futures in Education (PFiE), and Power and Education (PaE).

Tecnam Yoon is an associate professor of English education at Chuncheon national university. His research agenda centers on applying new technologies to TEFL, using interactive multimedia, web-/AI-based language learning, or CALL/MALL software. He is also interested in developing multilmodality, literacy practices and alternative pedagogies.

Ika Lestari Damayanti is an Associate Professor in the Department of English Education, Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia (UPI). She earned her Master’s degree in TEYL from the University of Warwick UK and a Doctorate degree from the University of Wollongong, Australia. She has conducted extensive research and workshops on EFL methodology, genre pedagogy, multi-literacy and storytelling.
